I just wanted to thank you Renee, Traci and Amy for a wonderful year!! I have lost 20 lbs since July just trying to stay on track with Jazz and eating healthy. Course changing jobs in October to one more stationary to home instead of traveling really helped make my decision to stay on track. but most of all you instructors helped me to focus on my body and how to get it back into shape. Especially when you tell me during the routine what I should be doing with my body. the cues are absolutely the key to doing the routine correctly. Everytime I am doing a song and I hear Traci say "you should be sticking your butt out" or "your stomach should be into your navel" or "stay Low" these are the key elements that keep me on track. never change and let's look forward to a great 2010. thank you for all that you do !!! |

Last summer after having two surgeries on my right hand for Carpel Tunnel, repair I found I could not put my right hand behind my back or raise my arm to shoulder level. I had some type of frozen shoulder syndrome. Later I was told I had Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy Syndrome. It might get better or I might just have to live with the pain. That was not an option I was willing to accept. My sports medicine doctor started me with a physical therapist 3 times a week for six weeks along with shots in my elbow & shoulder. I was told my chances for recovery from RSDS is about 50/50. I was allowed to continue my Jazzercise classes with limitations ( my sanity was saved!) The best part of this is finally after many months continuing with the therapy and Jazzercise, slowly I was able to regain close to full range of motion. My doctor said that the Jazzercise was the best form of therapy and he was truly amazed how quickly I came around. Many thanks to Renee and all of the instructors. Jane E. Benton |
Hi Renee: I am delighted to write this testimonial on the positive influence that you , your team , and my fellow Jazzercisers have had on my life. After hearing about Jazzercise from the wonderful Laura Metz , I decided to try it out. This was in July 2008. My memories of the first class were that it was fun, fast , and yes ( for us perfectionists- a bit frustrating!). I went home that evening and slept so well!!! As I continued attending the class, I finally got it: It's not about keeping up with everybody. This is your own journey - so do the best you can and enjoy the ride!!! Since attending Jazzercise, I have gone through some incredible changes. Physically, I have gone down almost two sizes and feel great!! Emotionally, I have tapped into a powerful stress and life maintenance tool. Spiritually, I have found a place where you can truly connect with people and share laughs, concerns, and triumphs! Thank you all for helping "shape" me into the best person I can be! I've included two photos - one from May 2007 and another from April 2009 Cheryl Davis |

At the behest of my Jazzercise instructor, Renee Davis, I am writing this testimonial about the role Jazzercise played in my recovery from recent surgery. I have been Jazzercising since 1983. I was 50 years old, and up to that time, I had never engaged in a regular exercise program. Indeed, because I was not flexible or graceful, I entered both of my children in dance school at a young age, so they would be both flexible and graceful. My daughter began her Jazzercise classes in 1983, and the results were both immediate and positive, so she coerced me into trying the class, which I immediately hated! After many, many heated arguments with my daughter about my attempts to quit, I settled down to a regular routine of Jazzercise, and proceeded from there to be her class manager when she became an instructor. She taught nine lessons weekly, and I accompanied her to all of them, all the while working a demanding, full-time job. I have never become particularly flexible or graceful, but can hold my own with the rest of the class. After retirement, we moved to the Melbourne area, as did my daughter and her family. We immediately began attending Jazzercise at two locations. I decided to challenge myself by attending as many classes as I could in each calendar year, and succeeded in reaching 300 for three years straight, which has pleased me. I learned early in December, 2007, that I needed surgery to remove my gallbladder, and turned to a fellow Jazzerciser, Janet, who is a volunteer at a local hospital, for the name of surgeons she could recommend. I decided on the surgeon and date, and underwent the surgery on January 8, 2008. The surgery went smoothly, and I was able to walk unaided down the corridor to the restroom one half hour after the surgery was completed. The nurse was really impressed, and I am truly grateful to Jazzercise for the physical fitness that allowed me to recover so quickly. After eight days, I was able to return to Jazzercise. As an aside, my fellow Jazzerciser, Janet met my surgeon while she was volunteering, and he asked if she Jazzercised with his patient - me. When she answered “yes,” he said “I guess there’s something to this Jazzercise!” |
