Renee Davis

Instructor & Owner of Melbourne, Palm Bay, Beaches
Certified May, 21 1999
Rodes Park, Satellite Beach, Suntree mornings
Birthday June 12

A native Floridian, Renee grew up a shy child and teenager moving to Brevard County with her family in 1985 where she attended DeLaura Junior High and Satellite High School. Not one to participate in clubs or sports, Renee found her passion in music and dance, although never considered herself a dancer.
Renee met her husband, Larry, at the local McDonald’s and they became best friends marrying in 1992. Larry and Renee have three beautiful children. The kids keep Renee moving with extra curricular activities like basketball, chess, gymnastics, dance, Girl Scouts, and math club. Larry has worked at an engineering company in Indian Harbour Beach since 1989. Renee is quick to admit that her strongest support system is her family.
Renee started Jazzercise after her second child was born in 1997. She was unhappy and out of shape. Her friend, Janette told her about an opening for a babysitter at her Jazzercise class. Renee knew she had to do something to lift the depression she was feeling, so she gave it a try---and loved it! She was hooked from the start. She would babysit one day a week with the rest of the week all to herself to enjoy free Jazzercise! She started attending 3-4 classes a week and shortly jumped to 6 classes a week. This shy Jazzerciser found herself voluntarily placing herself in front of new students to help them learn the foot patterns. Renee had found her niche! She enjoyed sharing her passion for the program at the registration table and encouraging new students to stick with it and “watch my feet, you’ll get it” while they were working out. She started thinking about becoming an instructor.
Two years after her third child was born, it was time to go for it. Her Instructor, Barbara Hotz, asked her to a Jazzercise screening class. With the screening behind her, Renee trained endlessly for two months to pass her workshop. She became a Certified Instructor in May of 1999. Started out as a substitute instructor but that didn’t last long. After two short months, the Rodes Park classes became available to own and Renee quickly changed her status to Owner. She worked hard to build those classes up to what they are today. You could say that Rodes Park is where “Melbourne, Palm Bay, Beaches” was born. In 2002, she started the Satellite Beach morning classes and just kept growing. A year later, instructor Barbara Hotz suggested a transfer of ownership of her own classes (Eau Gallie & Indian Harbour Beach) to Renee. Renee was hesitant, but the thrill of the challenge made her say “yes”. She now successfully owns and operates 25 classes a week with the assistance of her dedicated team of instructors.
Her students add--- “Renee’s passion for Jazzercise comes across in everything she does, every word she says, and more importantly in every life she touches. When the music’s on and the routines begin, Renee takes center stage filling the room and hearts of her students with an unbridled love of Jazzercise, friendship, energy, enthusiasm, and a warm sense of family…the Jazzercise family!”.

Favorite snack/food to indulge in: Wendy’s french fries. Publix brand Moosetracks (Ice cream with fudge and peanut butter cups). Sonic Diet Coke. I cannot drive by a Sonic’s without getting a large Diet Coke with those little round pieces of ice.

What would people be surprised to learn about you: People would be surprised to learn that I am still a shy and timid girl on the inside, sometimes feeling like I want to blend in with the crowd and not be noticed.

Most embarrassing moment at a Jazzercise class: My most embarrassing moment was when I introduced a current students’ sister as her mother on the microphone during our stretch!

Barbara Hotz

Eau Gallie Instructor
Monitor Assistant
Certified March 18, 1994
Birthday December 18

Veteran instructor Barbara Hotz began her Jazzercise life in Lompoc, California shortly after the birth of her last child. The wife of a career military officer and mother of three, Barbara refused to make the cross-country move to Florida in 1992 unless she could Jazzercise. As luck would have it there was a Jazzercise center in Melbourne, so she packed up the kids and the family dog and joined her husband there that summer. Barbara, like many Jazzercisers, was hooked after her first class. "The class was so much fun, and the instructor, Gloria Calhoun, was so genuine and real, a mom just like me that I identified with her immediately." Within six months, this Jazzercise junkie was working out 6 days a week and was asked to be a class manager. Not long after that, Barbara was approached about becoming an instructor. The family's upcoming move to Florida only postponed the inevitable. Barbara flew to Columbus Ohio in March 1994 and certified as an associate instructor. The Jazzercise center was no more and she quickly became a familiar face covering classes for all of Brevard County’s instructors. She began morning classes at the Eau Gallie Civic Center in January 1995, and within a year was a class owner teaching 11 classes a week. As one of the district's top producers, Barbara, like all working mothers, learned to juggle family life with Jazzercise. "I never wanted my children’s lives to be negatively impacted because I was teaching 4 nights a week and every Saturday. But I believe it was wonderful for them to see that their Mom had a passion and interest in something that was apart from them." Over the years Barbara has mentored several area instructors and helped them achieve their goals to become instructors. She takes immense pride and satisfaction in the knowledge that she has played a role in the growth and success of Jazzercise in Brevard county. In her role as a District Monitor Assistant, Barbara visits and monitors over a dozen fellow instructors, making sure that the high quality and standards of Jazzercise classes are maintained. She believes that one of the truly wonderful components of the Jazzercise program is the fact that founder and CEO, Judi Sheppard Missett, still teaches her own classes in addition to running this worldwide company. Another great thing about Jazzercise is the fact that the routines are choreographed by Judi and a team at Jazzercise Inc. headquarters and then sent to instructors.
"What this means for our customers is that they can take a class anywhere Jazzercise is offered and when they hear a particular song, they immediately know the routine and feel right at home."
Eleven years later, Barbara can still be found teaching 5 days a week at the Eau Gallie Civic Center. With 2 kids in college, the last in high school, and a husband who still travels a great deal, life has changed a great deal from when she started. But some things don't and will never
change. " The joy I get from my interaction with my classes is one of the greatest of my life. I have met and gotten to know the nicest and kindest people in the world. Jazzercise is truly special and I feel blessed to be a part of it."

Favorite food/snack to indulge in: Chili Cheese Fries and most anything Chocolate

Most embarrassing moment at a Jazzercise class: When I injured myself while teaching a Step class, my husband was called to take me to the hospital and being 6'3" and 220 lbs., he swung me up from the floor into his arms and carried me out like Rhett Butler carried Scarlet O'Hara up the
staircase in Gone With the Wind. The ladies in class practically swooned they thought it was so romantic.

What would people be surprised to learn about you: You would be surprised to know that I get nervous in front of crowds. I all but throw up each year before the Thanksgiving Day class because I’m so nervous!

Maureen (Mo) Buccelli

Personal Touch Instructor Satellite Beach and Rodes Park/Substitute Instructor
Certified June 10, 2005
Birthday June 2

Born & raised in CT, Mo was a rah!rah! cheerleader in high school. She also was chosen to be on the interpretive dance team. Little did she know what would happen a million years later. Mo has been married for 28 years to her wonderful husband Ken. She has 2 children. Chris, 23, a police officer and Dana, 19, a college student who plays softball & loves to Jazzercise with or without her mom. She also has 3 grandchildren ages 6, 3 & 2. Mo was always interested in fitness and was an AFAA certified instructor for about 12 years-teaching aerobics, step, slide & her favorite, weight training. Before moving to FL in 1995, Mo's former career was a Dental Hygienist practicing for 21 years. After her move she continued to teach a few classes here & there but was really looking for a new career. In 1999, at the age of 45, (the oldest in her class) she went to school to become a massage therapist. After graduating she opened her own practice and loves her work. Between going to school and starting her own business she became sedentary-Oh no! Not that! Well yes she did and one day she decided to try a Jazzercise class. For many years her friend Diane had been telling her how much fun it was. Mo thought it would be kind of boring and a little too "froo froo" for her but she had to do something since she was now the size of a small automobile & felt really lousy to boot. She went to her first class in Satellite Beach and stood in the back (of course!) so as not to kill anyone when she fell over! Much to her surprise she loved, loved, loved it. Well as they say the rest is history. It took a little convincing but once she found out that Jazzercise offered Personal Touch (personalized weight training) she decided to get certified. Once again, she was the oldest in the class. She now teaches 3 Personal Touch classes a week & loves every minute of it. She loves Basic Training & team teaching. She will also sub regular classes if she is offered enough money, gifts & food (just kidding)! Mo would like to thank all of the students for being so supportive and patient throughout her training. She would also like to thank the network of instructors for their love & support. Lastly but most certainly not least she would like to thank Renee for her unbelievable mentoring. Renee goes above & beyond the word mentor. She gives more of her expertise, support and time than you could imagine. Mo calls her the "mama duck" always worrying about her little ducklings. So to you Renee, a most heartfelt Thank You and "quack-quack".

Favorite Food/Snack to Indulge in: Thai Food

Most embarrassing moment in a Jazzercise class: The moments just continue to come because I can't keep my mouth shut.
Tracy Price

Palm Bay Instructor
Certified April 2006
Birthday November 16
Tracy is a long time Jazzercise class manager who finally decided to take the plunge and become a certified instructor. She is a military brat, so home is where you happen to be at this moment in time. Family life was spent in places such as, France, Germany, England, Japan, Ohio, Arkansas, South Carolina, South Dakota,….you get the picture. As long as her two sisters, her mom, and her dad were around, what else did she need? Oh yeah, maybe a husband. He has been around from more than 25 years now, so I guess you could say that Tracy has grown roots and settled into the Melbourne, Palm Bay area with her husband Pat and her kids Dolly and Sissy (mini dachshunds).

Jazzercise life began for Tracy on January 3, 1989. She attended class with a friend (does this sound familiar??) and six months later, Tracy became a class manager. It only took 18 years for Tracy to decide that it was time to take the next step. Thanksgiving 2005, Tracy decide, okay it’s time to step up and just do it. So, on April 6, 2006, Tracy took the plunge and has not looked back (much!!).

Favorite food to indulge in: ice cream, but I can’t any more. It’s so sad, but it’s a long story and we don’t have enough time.

What’s the one thing that others may not know?? - I’m really a loner.

Most embarrassing Jazzercise moment: I was talking girl talk one day in class, you know that stuff we girls talk about when we get in a group, and then realized that there’s a GUY in the class. That’s only one of many embarrassing moments in class. I have them every day!!!!

Janette Tabor

Satellite Beach Evening Instructor
Certified April 2006
Birthday November 2

Janette is a girl from the Midwest growing up just outside of Chicago. She is the youngest child of four; she has a sister and two brothers. She was very active in high school: cheerleading, yearbook editor, volleyball, track, tennis, math club and French club. Janette’s sister Mary Jo introduced her to Jazzercise the week after she graduated from high school in May 1982. Janette was hooked after her first class! Being an over achiever, she worked three part-time jobs while going to community college. Even with her full schedule, Jazzercise was a priority as Janette was still able to attend 3-4 classes every week.

Janette met her husband, Dave, in 1984, and they were married in 1988. In 1990, they moved from Illinois to Florida. One of first things Janette did when she moved to Florida was call 1(800) FIT IS IT to find a Jazzercise class. As luck would have it, there was a class right in her neighborhood at the Indian Harbour Beach (IHB) recreation center. She started attending the IHB classes and in 1990 became a class manager. Janette continued to Jazzercise through both her pregnancies. She believes that Jazzercise helped to make both baby deliveries quick and easy! She has two beautiful girls, Zoë and Erin, who have attended many classes with their mom. After the girls were born, Janette decided to go back to college for her Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS). She graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) in December 1998. After graduation, Janette became a full-time employee with GE where she currently is an Oracle database developer. Through all of these accomplishments, Jazzercise always remained a priority. Janette has a saying in her house. “Jazzercising was in my schedule before I met any of you (her husband and children), and I will continue to have it in my life.”

One wish that Janette always had was to teach Jazzercise, but the time was never right. Finally in 2006, the opportunity to teach was available. Of course, she jumped at the idea and in April 2006, Janette became a certified Jazzercise instructor. Janette’s response to being asked how she fells about being an instructor: “What a rush!! Teaching is soooo cool! It is a lot of work, but being able to help motivate people to exercise and feel good about themselves is very fulfilling. Of course, one of the great benefits is that the routine selection is now my choice!!”

Favorite food/snack to indulge in: Chocolate…brownies, Oreo cookies, etc.

What would people be surprised to learn about you: I have to sit by a window on an airplane or I just FREAK!!

Most embarrassing moment at a Jazzercise class: You would think after taking classes for 24 years, I would have such a long list…. But the only moment that really stands out is when I was a student; I tripped on my shoelace and fell right on my bottom, gracefully, of course!!

Lisa Noegel

Currently Planting Jazzercise Seeds in Wyoming
Certified Feb. 11, 2005
will return in 2008
Birthday November 29

Lisa was born and raised outside of Savannah, Georgia. Growing up in a small town, Lisa took dancing and played softball for her local team. In high school she marched in the band (yes, she’s a band geek!), sang in the school choir, and played on the softball team (state runner-up her senior year!).

After high school, Lisa moved to Savannah, attended business school and started her career as a customer service representative for a major shipping company. In the fall of 1992 she met her future husband Mark, and they were married the following May. Lisa then began her life as an Air Force wife! They lived in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, where son Logan was born in 1996. They then traveled to Germany, South Carolina and are presently stationed here at Patrick where they hope to retire in a few more years.

Lisa went to her first Jazzercise class after arriving to Patrick in January 2002. She quickly fell in love with the program and knew it was something she had to have in her life. Everyone at Jazzercise was so friendly and supportive she knew this would be a life long program for her! She became a Jazzercise manager that summer and was then a part of the Jazzercise family full-time! She enjoyed welcoming new students to class and sharing with them her success with Jazzercise. At the end of 2003 she had started a healthier eating plan in addition to Jazzercise and lost over 40 pounds by the fall of 2004! She attended a Jazzercise instructor screening in November 2004 and became a certified instructor on February 11, 2005! She is now teaching Jazzercise three evenings a week and loves every minute of it! She credits Jazzercise to making her a happier and healthier wife, mom and friend!

Favorite Food/Snack to Indulge in: Bourbon Chicken from the Bamboo Panda and for dessert Dairy Queen’s Peanut Buster Parfait!
